This event is run by the Federation of Veteran, Vintage & Classic Cars... its pretty much a get together for anyone/club involved in the federation. The requirements are 25 years and older for the car, its not an unspoken rule its inline with the Federation rules, also at this there are generally no hot rods (even though last time I was talking to the organisers they were looking at having a seperate areas for hotrod/modified).
The day includes a vintage tractor run, stationary steam engines, vintage trucks and this year the Golden Oldies tour (cars between 1919 - 1936 from memory).
Normally the day runs 10-3 (display cars are let in earlier).
A good family day out for restored and original car enthusiasts.
If anyone wants any more details just PM me or email me at horsepower_chick@hotmail.com

What a day! It's been a busy few months leading up to the launch of the Goldfields Custom Cruisers and the first of many show and shines held by the club. A lot of planning and support was invested in the day and a massive thanks needs to go out to our many sponsors who made the day possible. I cannot thank Ange and the boys at Strathfield Bendigo along with Scott and the boys from Bendigo Tyre Centre enough for what was truly invaluable support. Strathfield and Bendigo Tyre Centre put a lot of time and effort into their fantastic displays. Strathfield also donated an LCD TV, DVD player and Pioneer In-car Entertainment package along with lots more! The day would not have happened without them. Big thanks goes to Pennos Smash Repairs for the Cut & Polish Voucher. And many thanks to Bursons Auto Parts, Beeps Auto Parts and Speed Pro for their donations of car products and accessories. We would also like to thank Ron Twitt Motor Radiators, MTC Auto Electrical, Dantrim, RTN Motors, dB Drag Racing Australia and again Speed Pro, Beeps Auto Parts, Strathfield and Bendigo Tyre Centre for the donation of the trophies which looked fantastic! Trophies were designed and made by Great Ideas Awards & Gifts. And a huge thanks to Lords Raceway for the opportunity to use a fantastic venue.
Thank you so much to all of the entrants who took the time and effort to prepare their vehicles and support a club which is so new to the car scene. Its fantastic to see everyone showing us so much support to a club that is still finding its feet. And thank you to all that came out to support the club and those who entered. We promise to make sure our events only get bigger and better!!
And last, but not least, thank you so much to all the guys and girls behind the scenes. Its been a learning curve for all involved and i think the whole team have done a great job in making our first effort a very successful one. I wont go through and name names, but you know who you all are!!
Overall the day ran pretty smoothly with some fantastic examples of Bendigo and Victoria's best. The weather couldn't have been kinder to us. It was also a great opportunity for those that hadn't seen it before to experience 'dB Drag Racing' where there were some pretty close results. Again thanks to Ange and Strathfield along with dB Drag Racing Australia for running this part of the event. Winners will be listed on their website shortly.
If anyone has pictures from the event they would like to forward to the club, please contact us - goldfieldscustomcruisers@yahoo.com.au
Again, from myself, the committee and all involved in the Goldfields Custom Cruisers inaugural show and shine thank you.
Yours Sincerely,
Matthew Davey President Goldfields Custom Cruisers Inc
Please stay tuned for the full wrap up of results and pictures from the event. |
